Real Estate For Sale

Anna Maria Island Beaches Real Estate...

Unlike the rest of the country, the Anna Maria Island real estate market is HOT, HOT, HOT!

Anna-maria-sunset It's true, in many cities, towns and communities across America, realtors and real estate companies are going broke, closing down and just plain going out of business as a result of the down turn in the real estate market and the economy.

But on the island of Anna Maria Island, its a whole other story. You can still find real estate businesses and realtors in numbers that seem somewhat out of proportion to the size of the island and it's number of residence.

That is because the Anna Maria Island real estate market is out of proportion to the rest of the country. So much so, we actually have a new real estate company on the block... Anna Maria Island Beaches Real Estate.

Why would anyone be entering the real estate market during these volatile times we live?

Well, that's because although they are technically new kids on the block, the folks at Anna Maria Island Beaches Real Estate bring years of island living and experience in the local real estate market to the table... and you are going to be hearing a lot about them.

They do have a web site up, albeit still in development, and its located at www.AnnaMariaIslandBeachesRealEstate.com.

If you love Anna Maria Island life as much as we do and you've decided to move there, you will need somewhere to live. Do yourself a favor and call 'AMI Beaches Real Estate'. They have the combined experience and know how to help you find your dream home in paradise.

Beach Bums, Product of White Sand Beaches in the Sun

Anna Maria Island Beaches: Home to the Strangest of Creatures...

Beach-bums Anna Maria Island is well known for her spectacular beaches.

More than 7 miles of white sand and aqua blue, Gulf Coast waters. The result of beautiful beaches, white sand and sun, is that it produces the famous Anna Maria beach bum.

Beach bums on Anna Maria Island spend the day on the beach soaking in the sun.  They can be recognized by certain characteristics:  they are dark brown of course, they ride a scooter, small motorcycle or a bike, and of course they are regulars at the local pubs and bars.

Beach bums have the life in paradise - they are never in a hurry and are always happy.

Anna Maria Island really is a special place.  Check out our myspace page and all the Anna Maria Island Beach Bums.  If you want to be a beach bum while visiting Anna Maria Island... start by renting a bike from Anna Maria Island Bike Rentals affectionately known as Fun and More Rentals.

Old City Pier Photograph

Anna Maria City Pier...

While searching for Anna Maria Island related history, we came across an old phograph of the Anna Maria City Pier.

Anna maria city pier The pier in the photo to the right is located in Anna Maria City.

The original part of the pier was built in 1911 by Will Bean. This picture was taken after the pier had been enlarged.

The pier had to be enlarged in order to accomodate the large passenger steamers and groups of excursionists that were coming to visit Anna Maria Island.

Turtle Watch Prepares For Turtle Nesting Season

Turtle Nesting
Season Begins on Anna Maria Island Beaches...

Turtle tours anna maria island It's being reported that local Anna Maria Island officials and Turtle Watch have been preparing for this year's sea turtle protection effort".

As is the case every year around April, endangered sea turtles in the local area waters are expected to begin nesting on the beaches of Anna Maria Island.

In anticipation of this annual ecological event, officials have been looking to the public for help in protecting the turtles as well as with observing this amazing ancient ritual.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, although sea turtles are in fact among the oldest creatures on earth and are believed to have been nesting on beaches for some 110 million years, the journey taken from the sea to the sand and back to the sea again is a perilous one indeed. So perilous for the turtle hatchlings that their ultimate survival is largely in human hands.

Meet "Lefty", The Sea Turtle Hatchling That Got Left Behind and Survived!

The local sea turtles and their hatchlings are at risk from artificial lighting and scavengers. If you want more information about how you can help save the sea turtles, call Turtle Watch at 778-5638.  Or read, Making it Safer for Sea Turtles During Their Nesting and Hatching Season to learn more.

Experience That 'Old Florida' Feeling

Visit Anna Maria Island For That 'Old Florida' Look and Feel...

AnnamariaislandSome people say it's getting near impossible to find that "Old Florida" feel we miss and long for. Sure, Miami has it's glitz and nightlife, and Palm Beach will always be a favorite of some, but if it's a folksy, down home Florida beach community you're looking for... they say it just can't be found any more.

Well folks, that just aint true!

Anna Maria Island is located off the coast of Florida in the Gulf of Mexico. It's just seven miles long, and it has the same look and feel that used to be so common throughout Florida's coastal communities 30 years ago.

Visit Anna Maria Island and you'll see pastel colored beach cottages that look like they were just plucked from your favorite fairy tale. You'll be hard pressed to find a building any taller than a palm tree, and traffic?  Well, it's almost non existent.

Most people get around Anna Maria Island by bicycle or free trolley... and of course you will see the occasional custom or classic car ;-)

Traffic

No Problem With Anna Maria Island Traffic...

Anna_maria_island_bridge_project_maIt's being reported in local media that many of the traffic problems anticipated as a result of the closure of the busiest connection to Anna Maria Island simply have not materialized. In fact CARL MARIO NUDI of the Bradenton Herald said, "If it wasn't for the extra miles one has to drive to get to the island, commuters wouldn't know the Anna Maria Bridge was closed for three days."

He also stated, "Traffic flow has been smooth since the Florida Department of Transportation closed the bridge at midnight Sunday, forcing drivers to detour from Manatee Avenue West to Cortez Road to get to their favorite island spots.
