Wanna Take in Anna Maria Island by Bike...
Rent a bike from Fun and More Rentals, located right here on Anna Maria Island.
Are there bike trails for us two wheel freaks when we land on Anna Maria Island?
Well, I guess it depends what you call bike trails.
There is a new bike lane along Coquina Beach in Bradenton Beach, located on Anna Maria Island. There are also bike lanes in Holmes Beach (central Anna Maria Island), and in Anna Maria City, our most northern and charming village on Anna Maria Island!
Anna Maria Island is probably one of the last remaining quaint, Old Florida style islands left.
Anna Maria Island is a mixture of new and tiny cottages, to multi-million dollar beach and bay front homes and condos.
There are plenty of quality places to eat, each unique in its own way, and if you're looking for the catch of the day, then you have lots to choose from.
Love to Fish?
Perfect!
Then come to Anna Maria Island and enjoy your love. You'll have the opportunity to enjoy the catch of the day and then some.
You'll also find that you can walk almost the entire 7 mile length of sugar white sand beach, stopping at your favorite catch of the day pier or restaurant.
Love to Boat?
Perfect!
You can rent a boat or take a fishing charter and eat your own catch of the day!
Anna Maria Island is also a community devoted to volunteering, support of non-profit organizations, and art. All you have to do is surf this blog and you'll see why!
What was the original question?
Oh ya, are there bicycle trails on Anna Maria Island?
Yes, like we said, there is a new bike lane along Coquina Beach, in Holmes Beach and in Anna Maria City.
In fact, they go almost the entire length of the island and are marked on the main road. There are also many side roads where there is little traffic, and of course there is Key Royale at Holmes Beach.
Longboat Key has a bike lane and sidewalks from the North end of the Island all the way to the end of the Key. Lot's of fun biking, stop at Harry's for a sandwich and have a picnic at Ken Thompson Park on the bay.
You will also enjoy the newest bike path on the north end of Coquina Beach, just north of Longboat that trails along the beach. Put your bike on the Free Anna Maria Island trolley and take a scenic view all the way to the end of Anna Maria Island.
Have a fun and enjoyable lunch at the Rod and Reel pier and watch the locals catch fish!
Best grouper sandwich in town!
