Island Gallery West...
In 1989 the idea of an art center on Anna Maria Island was just a dream of one man, James Pay. That dream evolved to become Island Gallery West which opened in Holmes Beach the following year.
Today, a rich variety of art by talented local artists awaits the art lover at Island Gallery West.
The works of nearly 30 local artists, artisans and craftspeople are on display. Stop in and take home some local art as a souvenir of our lovely island.
The gallery is staffed six days a week by member artists who welcome the opportunity to discuss their art with you. Stop by for a pleasant, relaxing visit and enjoy the many fine works of art on display in two exhibit areas.
You’ll discover all the variety and visual stimulation of an art festival in a pleasant gallery setting.
Hours are Monday-Saturday 10-5.
Free Art Demonstrations on Saturdays.

A Little Island Gallery West History
In 2009 Island Gallery West celebrated 19 years in the same location in Holmes Beach, right here on beautiful Anna Maria Island.
Offering original work in oils, acrylics, watercolors, photography, ceramics, stained glass, jewelry, basketry, and sculpture... Island Gallery West has always hosted a steady flow of talented award winning artists from all walks of life.
Established 20 years ago by a small core group of local artists, Island Gallery West has evolved into a successful artists' cooperative of nearly thirty members. They offer paintings, photographs, mixed media, sculpture, ceramic arts, stained glass, furniture, pottery, basketwork, decorative tiles, jewelry, note cards and a whole lot more!
The works of a different artist are featured each month.
Island Gallery West maintains an average of 25 to 30 members and continues as an artists' cooperative with no paid employees. It is a requirement of each member to sit gallery duty once a month... a true cooperative!
This unique and special gallery shows very high quality work at very affordable prices.
Monthly public receptions, held simultaneously with our sister galleries - AMI Art League, and the Artists' Guild, are offered throughout the season honoring the Featured Artist of the month.
Even if you don't want to purchase any art work, you are invited to visit with the artist on duty and enjoy the beauty and talent of these fine artists. If you like, you can attend the free demonstrations on Saturday mornings (during season).
Island Gallery West announces its Free Art Demonstration schedule for the 2010 season.
The events are open to the public and are held weekly on Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon at the gallery located at 5368 Gulf Drive (S & S Shopping Plaza), Holmes Beach, FL.
