Sun, Sand, Shopping and Treats
Anna Maria Island is a Beach Worth Visiting...
That My wife, family and I are here on vacation enjoying beautiful Anna Maria Island. Yesterday we went out and did some exploring.
The first thing we did was visit Fun and More Rentals. They are a local vacation supply rental company that can rent you just about anything you would need, or imagine you might need, while on vacation.
Quite literally, Fun and More Rentals has for rent; baby equipment, furniture and supplies, bikes for rent, kayaks and skim boards, beach stuff like umbrellas, beach chairs, BBQ's and coolers. They even sell vacation snack packages so you can have more time to enjoy your vacation.
We rented a crib, stroller and high chair for our youngest, a pair of kayaks for the teens, bocce balls for the wife and I, and some beach chairs, an umbrella and a cooler for those long days on the beaches of beautiful Anna Maria Island.
Once we got the vacation equipment back to our vacation rental house just yards from the beach, we decided to leave the kids and do some shopping. Anna Maria Island is a shopping paradise. The quaint shops and specialty stores are so, so cool. The first thing we did was set ourselves up with some new duds that say Anna Maria Island, paradise island in the sun!
We found tons of cute shops to check out. Clothes, flip flops, jewelry and souvenirs, in that order. Then it was time to treat ourselves to some candy and wine. You read right, I said candy and wine!
It was the last stop, and it was called Sweet Peas. Run by a local couple, the wife handles the candy store where she creates toffee’s, brittle, and other tid bits, while the husband sells Florida wines and offers free wine tastings. Several of the wines were quite good, which resulted in us purchasing several bottles for our stay.
Good thing we brought the teens to watch the baby.
Once back at the beach house the kids, who'd already eaten, took off for the beach. While they were gone we saw the baby to sleep and then prepared a very special dinner for two, and cracked open one of those bottles of wine. From there we just relaxed the early evening away. Of course it was only a few short hours before the kids came home, the baby woke up and reality set back in.
My feet were a bit sore from all the shopping we had done, and all the walking around.
Think tomorrow we'll spend checking out the local beach birds and marine life. In other words, a relaxing day on the beach!
Anna Maria Island is a very special place. If you've never been there you ought to treat yourself to paradise at least once in your life, and visit beautiful Anna Maria Island.
