As if Anna Maria Island hasn't been getting enough attention in recent years, now German television audiences are going to have the opportunity to view 17 minutes of scenes from Anna Maria Island, Longboat Key and Bradenton on two different travel programs in September.

According to Jessica Grace, of the Bradenton Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, a production crew dodged unseasonal rains last week while filming segments for two German television broadcasts... the '100% Vacation' and the 'Travel Advice' programs.
These popular travel related TV shows are scheduled to feature Anna Maria Island area beaches and hotels, Snooty the manatee at the South Florida Museum in Bradenton and Prime Outlets in Ellenton.
Our German friends first heard about Anna Maria Island via radio during the Jazz on the Islands campaign two years ago. Although there have been a number of Anna Maria Island area stories appear in the German press, this most recent spot scheduled to air in September will be Manatee County’s first introduction to German television audiences.
it's been reported in the local media that this is Kerstin Woldt's, a producer with the ARD Radio and Television Network, first visit to Anna Maria Island. She says her favorite places were Bean Point and the two piers in Anna Maria.
"The Island compares favorably to the Caribbean", she said, adding that "accommodations here are more luxurious, and people are equally friendly and casual."
How will the exposure to German television audiences affect Anna Maria Island?
"German's typically have a month of vacation time each year, and split it in half", she said. "A two-week stay in Florida would likely include a week in Orlando’s theme parks and a week at the beach, either east coast or west coast."
Rest assured that the beaches of Anna Maria Island and that Old Florida Look and Feel you just can't get anywhere else, are enough to ensure that Manatee County gets its fair share of attention.
