Anna Maria Island Vacation...
A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I went to the most amazing island beach area on the Gulf Coast of Florida. It's called Anna Maria Island and has these cute little multi-colored houses squished together along the beach.
I wanted to take pictures but a picture just wasn't going to do this place justice.
We really enjoyed the island's beaches but it was raining. Walking up and down the beach, breathing in the fresh salt air, we saw more and more cute houses crowding the edge of the coast.
When we left the beach we stopped at a local Anna Maria Island coffeeshop combination gift shop. They sold smoothies and coffee drinks, and they had pastries baked fresh there. The shop was crammed with antiques, art by local artists, gifts of all kinds, and these amazing handmade shell chandeliers.
I wanted one of the shell chandeliers so bad, but couldn't part with the $400 they wanted, so I took a picture of it instead. I had a yummy coconut banana smoothie and an apricot scone.
Anna Maria Island was awesome. We would recommend it to anyone wanting to vacation in a laid back kind of beach community with all sorts of cute, funky stuff to see. I know we'll be going there again.
