Anna Maria Island offers three fishing piers. No license is required to fish from the piers which makes it a fun, lazy-day pastime for residents and island guests alike.
Anna Maria Island Historic City Pier
Built in 1910, Anna Maria City Pier is an historic wooden fishing pier that plays host to fishing, drinking and dining. Located at 101 Bay Blvd. in Anna Maria City, at the end of Pine Avenue.
Anna Maria City Pier stretches 710' into Tampa Bay. It is the perfect spot to drop in a line and catch a wide variety of saltwater fish. The Anna Maria City Pier was first built in 1910. Located at the end of the pier is the Anna Maria Oyster Bar, a perfect place to enjoy a gulf island sunset.
The Anna Maria Historic City Pier makes for a very pleasant stroll in the sun, and there's an outdoor bar and bait shop. If quiet contemplation and the simple life is what you seek, then you my enjoy an hour or two on the piers of Anna Maria City.
Rod and Reel Pier
The Rod and Reel Pier is a nice spot to cast a line — and maybe swap some fish tales. The pier stretches 350' into Tampa Bay. It is located at 875 North shore Drive, Anna Maria, FL, (941) 778-1885, and is open from 7:00 am - 10:00 PM.
Back in 1979 a whopping 17 ft, 1,386 pound Hammerhead Shark was caught off the Rod & Reel Pier, the world record Hammerhead Shark. It is the largest shark ever caught off a fishing pier. Good place to drop a line in for Tarpon, Snook, Red fish, Trout or Flounder.
Even if you don't get a 1,300 pound fish off the Pier you can still catch a plentiful variety of Jacks, Mackerel, Snappers, Drums, Snook, Cobia, Barracuda, King Fish, Ladyfish, Tarpon, Sand Perch, Sheepshead, Trout, Red Fish, Grouper and a variety of Sharks.
The Rod and Reel Pier is perfect for fishing, manatee watching or dining at the Rod and Reel Restaurant.
Bradenton Beach Historical Bridge Street Pier
Bradenton Beach City Pier has re-opened and features a 2.2 million dollar renovation. Located at 200 Bridge Street, Bradenton, FL (941) 779-1706, the historic pier suffered structural damage during the Hurricane season of 2004 and has been closed since.
Located on the bay side, this is a great spot to fish for grouper, flounder, mullet, bluefish and ladyfish. A restaurant is located on the first part of the pier. The Bradenton Beach Pier is open 24-hours a day so anglers can always enjoy this popular spot, which is at the end of historic — and newly refurbished — Bridge Street... home of the famous Bradenton Beach Bridge Street Market.
When the original wooden bridge to Anna Maria Island was replaced with a draw bridge, the island side of the bridge was retained to create a fishing pier. The cafe was added later and has become one of Manatee County's most popular eating spots.
The Bradento Beach City Pier features tremendous views and good fishing. Live bait, supplies and tackle are available in the bait shop.

Bradenton Memorial Pier - The Bradenton Memorial Pier is located downtown in Bradenton on the north end of 12th St. W.
Bridge.
Jigg's Landing - Jiggs's Landing is open daily from 6:30 am. Enjoy fresh water fishing and boating on the pastoral Braden River. Fishing, tackle and bait shop. Located at 6106 Braden River Road, Bradenton, FL (941) 756-6745.
Longboat Pass Bridge - There always seems to be someone casting a line from the Longboat Pass Bridge that connects Bradenton Beach to the north end of Longboat Key.
