It's true, Anna Maria Island is the #1 Florida destination wedding location...
If you’re planning a Florida Destination Wedding to Anna Maria Island, or elsewhere for that matter, you need to remember to pack a few specific things before you head off.
This post is not particularly Anna Maria Island or Florida specific, so much of the following will depend on where you are having your wedding, how far it is from where you live, and of course, your own personal style.
For the wedding, you'll want to pack some of these items, depending on your plans:
- wedding dress
- special hosiery or undergarments
- shoes (if you're planning a tropical wedding, remember that high temperatures and humidity, coupled with a long flight, can make feet puffy)
- guest book
- wedding rings
- groom's tux or suit
- groom's shoes
- address book
- thank you cards if you'd like to write them on the way home
- special decorations, wedding music
If you are getting married outside of North America, make sure to check ahead for what type of outlets you will be required to use and purchase the appropriate converters.
Make sure to pack all of your documents, including Birth Certificate, Divorce Papers (if applicable), Passport and all other ID’s, and your Major Credit Cards.
If you are bringing your Wedding Dress with you, try to carry it on the airplane. Most airlines will have coat-closets for storage on the plane - do not trust your dress to be checked luggage. If you don't believe me you can read the testimonial in our Wedding Horror Stories section of this blog.
Try to carry any important information or required items for your Wedding with you. If your luggage gets lost, you may only have the items you carried with you for your wedding.
This post most certainly is not an exhaustive list of all the things to consider when planning a destination wedding vacation to Florida or elsewhere. It is intended only as a guide to help stimulate you in creating your own personal list of wedding and travel priorities.
