November--Saturday, Nov. 10 the Public is invited to the Grand Opening celebration of the New Anna Maria Island Community Center.
The Anna Maria Island Community Center is open Monday - Friday 9:00am-9:00pm and Saturdays from 9:00am-5:00pm.
Starting in October, the Anna Maria Island Community Center will be opened from 9:00am-9:00pm on Saturdays... Closed on Sundays.

Currently the Center is offering seminars on such diverse topics as:
- Use the Law of Attraction to Create Your Perfect Lifestyle. If you wonder what all the hub-bub is about The Law of Attraction or The Secret, attend Life Coach Joan Dickinson's inter-actional seminar. You will learn some fun ways to set goals and manifest your dreams. The prerequisites are an open mind, some unmet dreams and a sense of humor.
- Identity Theft is everywhere – on your computer, behind you at an ATM kiosk, at the other end of a sales call. This seminar provides detailed information to help you deter, detect, and defend against identity theft. Learn how to avoid identity theft and learn what to do if your identity is stolen. Businesses can learn how to help their customers deal with identity theft, as well as how to prevent problems in the first place.
- Managing Your Memory : Practical Solutions for Forgetting. The focus on this book is to help people understand that all humans throughout life, not just in old age, are challenged by memory. He also explains the differences between short-term and long-term memory. Dr. Beckwith’s dynamic presentations and teaching methods are amazingly simple and immediately useful for individuals as well as for groups.
- Building Better Brains - Learn about the effects of drugs on the brain. Dr Cheryl Kirstein, Professor at USF, is a neuroscientist and an expert at studying the development of addiction. Her laboratory has researched addiction and brain disorders for over 20 years using an animal model.
- Global Pollution - The environmental crises caused by human actions calls for restorative action through a reshaping of human activity. The mission of this seminar is to inspire action at every level: from individual action, up through our communities, to the state, national and international level. The actions are all shifting our civilization to a sustainable future. Let's work and take action together. The time is now. The hope is you.

The Mission of the Anna Maria Island Community Center is to provide opportunities for individuals of all ages that develop character, educate minds, build healthier bodies, foster volunteerism and inspire all residents, especially our youth, to make a positive difference in our community and in the world.
Our mission statement is based on the following principals: faith, human dignity, integrity and honesty, patience, nurturance, encouragement, respect, responsibility and service.
